- Begin by heating 200 milliliters of milk and/or water. You can use either milk, water, or a combination of both depending on your preference.
- Once the liquid is heated, add half a spoonful of sugar and one teaspoon of salt to it. Stir well until the sugar and salt are dissolved.
- Next, add 10 grams of dry yeast to the mixture. Give it a gentle stir and let it sit for a few minutes until the yeast becomes activated and starts to foam.
- In a separate mixing bowl, combine the activated yeast mixture with the desired amount of flour. You can use all-purpose flour or bread flour for this recipe.
- Mix everything together until a soft and slightly sticky dough forms. Don’t worry if the dough feels a bit sticky, as it will become more manageable as you continue to knead.
Kneading and Shaping the Bread
- Once the dough comes together, transfer it to a clean and lightly floured surface. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Divide the dough into equal portions and shape them into small rounds or any desired shape. You can also roll the dough into long strips to make breadsticks if you prefer.
- Place the shaped dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Leave some space between each piece to allow them to rise.
- Cover the dough with a clean kitchen towel and let it rest for about 5 minutes. During this time, the dough will slightly rise and become more puffy.
