This mulled wine cake is the perfect choice for winter and the Christmas season! With red wine and spices in the dough, it is reminiscent of the popular drink from the Christmas market. The moist sponge cake is quick to prepare and goes just as well with afternoon coffee as with a holiday meal. Try it out!

INGREDIENTS

For the dough:

300g flour
100g ground hazelnuts
25g cocoa powder
2 teaspoons of baking soda
4 eggs

1 pack vanilla sugar
1 pinch of salt
200g sugar
150ml oil
2 tsp orange zest
2 tsp cinnamon
1 pinch of clove powder
1 pinch nutmeg
150ml red wine

aside from that:

150g icing sugar
50ml red wine
