Introduction:
There’s something about recipes passed down through generations that makes them special. Whether it’s the way the family gathers around the table, the scents that fill the kitchen, or the secret ingredients that make it taste just right, these dishes hold a unique place in our hearts. Today, we’re sharing a recipe that’s not only delicious but carries a story of love, tradition, and memories — a dish that will have everyone saying, "Good to know! Thanks, ma!"

Ingredients:

2 cups of flour
1 cup of sugar
½ cup of butter (softened)
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ cup of milk
1 tsp baking powder
A pinch of salt
Optional: 1 cup of your favorite fruit (blueberries, apples, etc.)
Directions:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with milk, until just combined.
If you’re using fruit, fold it into the batter gently.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Allow it to cool before serving.
Serving and Storage Tips:

Serve warm, topped with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a sweet treat.
Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or in the fridge for up to a week.
You can also freeze the dessert for up to a month. Just make sure to wrap it tightly!
