Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly greasing a baking sheet.

In a medium bowl, combine the shredded chicken, cream cheese, diced onion, garlic powder, and black pepper, mixing until well integrated.

Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into triangles along the perforated lines. Place a generous spoonful of the chicken mixture on the wider end of each triangle, then top with cheddar cheese.

Roll up the dough starting from the filled end, forming a crescent shape, and place each roll-up on the baking sheet with the tip underneath to prevent unrolling.

For a golden finish, brush the tops of the roll-ups with melted butter.

Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and the dough is cooked through.

Allow cooling slightly, then garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve warm.
