INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees top/bottom heat. Grease your baking tin well.
Separate the eggs. Beat the egg yolks with the sugar (if you are making the version without marzipan, use the entire 150g of sugar) until frothy.
Beat the egg whites with the salt until stiff.
Melt the chocolate and butter over a water bath. Let everything cool briefly and then add it to the egg yolk and sugar mixture.
Heat the marzipan in a saucepan until it becomes a thick mass. If necessary, mix in 2 tablespoons of milk. Add the marzipan to the dough as well.
Mix the baking powder and flour in a bowl and add it to the milk. Stir everything in well. Finally, carefully fold in the beaten egg whites.
step 2
Quarter and core the pears. Cut them into fan shapes.
Pour the dough into your baking tin and spread the pears on top. Finally, sprinkle the chocolate chips on top. Bake the cake for about 35-40 minutes and then let it cool down a little.
step 3
Melt the chocolate over a water bath and cover the entire cake with it. Sprinkle with brittle or chopped nuts and let the chocolate dry.
