German apple oatmeal

Peel and core the apples, then chop them into small pieces.
In a saucepan, combine the chopped apples with water and cook over medium heat until the apples are soft and tender.
Meanwhile, toast the walnut halves in a dry skillet over medium heat until fragrant. Chop them into smaller pieces.
Once the apples are cooked, stir in the oatmeal and chopped walnuts. Cook for a few more minutes until the oatmeal is cooked through and the mixture is thickened.
Add vanilla essence and agave syrup to taste, stirring well to combine.
Serve the German apple oatmeal warm, optionally topping with additional chopped walnuts or a drizzle of agave syrup if desired. Enjoy!
