Onion and Apple Tea: An Effective Home Remedy for Cough

  1. Prepare the Ingredients:
    • Peel and slice the onion into thin rings.
    • Wash and core the apple, then slice it into thin pieces. There’s no need to peel the apple unless you prefer to.
  2. Boil the Water:
    • In a medium-sized pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil.
  3. Add Onion and Apple:
    • Once the water is boiling, add the sliced onion and apple to the pot.
    • Reduce the heat to a simmer and let the mixture cook for about 15-20 minutes.
  4. Strain the Tea:
    • After simmering, remove the pot from the heat and let it cool for a few minutes.
    • Strain the tea into a cup, discarding the solid pieces of onion and apple.
  5. Add Honey and Lemon (Optional):
    • If desired, add a tablespoon of honey to sweeten the tea and a teaspoon of lemon juice for an extra boost of vitamin C and flavor.
  6. Enjoy:
    • Sip the tea slowly while it’s still warm. For best results, drink a cup of this tea two to three times a day.
