Preparation
First, we put 125 ml in a saucepan. milk together with cocoa powder, oat flakes, sugar and dulce de leche. We send it to a minimum/medium heat.
This must be stirred continuously until the oatmeal is well cooked (about 8 minutes). When it is cooked, we remove it from the heat. At this moment you can add the chopped peanuts or walnuts, cinnamon to taste, dried fruit and grated coconut and set aside.
On the other hand we will put the 500 ml. Pour some of the remaining milk into a saucepan, once it boils, remove from the heat and let it cool.
Once the milk is warm, we pour it into a bowl and must move the pot to where the oat mixture is within reach.
We prepare a mold (or a container in which to make the nougat) and apply a thin layer of oat flakes over the entire surface to form a base.
Then we soak the water biscuits in the warm milk and place them on the oatmeal layer, taking care not to get them too wet, otherwise they would break and the texture would change.
Once you have covered the entire surface with crackers, you will need to add another layer of oatmeal. We will repeat this process several times to make it perfect. Try to make the last layer of oats.
Once ready, we dip it in chocolate and sprinkle coconut flakes on top. We send it to the fridge for at least an hour. The longer it is in the fridge, the harder it will be.
Once we take it out of the fridge, we unmold it and enjoy this delicious nougat with family or friends.
