- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven while preheating.
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into two equal portions. Roll out each portion into a thin circle on a lightly floured surface.
- Transfer the rolled-out dough to a pizza peel or baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Spread marinara sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
- Arrange tomato slices on top of the cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Slide the pizza onto the preheated pizza stone in the oven, or place the baking sheet directly in the oven.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and melted.
- Remove the pizza from the oven and garnish with fresh basil leaves. Drizzle with olive oil if desired.
- Slice and serve hot.
