Preheat the oven to 400°F.
-
Clean each potato by scrubbing off any dirt. Use a fork to poke 8 to 10 sets of holes in the skins of each potato for ventilation. Rub a small amount of olive oil on each potato. Season generously with salt and wrap each potato tightly in aluminum foil.
-
Place the wrapped potatoes on a baking sheet to catch any juices that may leak out. Bake for 1 hour, or until the potatoes are soft.
-
Carefully remove the potatoes from the oven and unwrap them. Slice each potato in half lengthwise.
-
Add 1 tablespoon of melted butter to the inside of each potato half. Top with cheese, bacon, sour cream, and green onions. Add any additional toppings as desired. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
